Her work focuses on helping healthcare organizations translate complex clinical and scientific topics into clear, credible communications, and educational initiatives that support improved care delivery and patient outcomes.

She served as a lead on a grant supporting the CDC’s Bring Your Brave campaign, developing digital resources—including an interactive conversation simulation—to help improve communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers around hereditary cancer risk. This initiative received a Gold Anthem Award for health-related public service and community engagement. She has also partnered with the Family Medicine Education Consortium to develop a narrative medicine learning collaborative and a quality improvement initiative supporting hereditary breast cancer screening and referral practices in family medicine clinics.

In addition to campaign and CME development, Anya has conducted needs assessments and applied research with physicians and health system leaders to inform education strategies, clinical tools, and implementation approaches in areas such as diabetes, obesity, asthma, MASLD/MASH, IBD care, and eosinophilic esophagitis. Her work spans collaborations with professional medical associations, federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector partners.

Anya is known for bridging research rigor with practical implementation—helping organizations align clinical evidence, strategic messaging, and stakeholder insights to drive measurable impact across the care continuum.

She earned a master’s degree in strategic communication from American University and a doctorate degree in communication from University of Maryland.
